Lifecycle Module
Service Transition focuses on introducing new or changed services into the "live environment" and the transition from development into live and the associated documentation, processes, procedures an early life support.

The course includes a detailed look at Service Asset and Configuration Management, Knowledge Management, Change Management, Release and Deployment, Service Validation and Testing and Evaluation. It will also look at how services are managed through the Transition phase and what these roles should expect to receive and what they should be preparing for in transition into Service Operations. There will also be discussion centred on the value of transition to the business and the requirement to assist in the continual service improvement of these processes.

Pre-Requisites
ITIL Foundation Certificate in IT Service Management or V2 to V3 Bridge. Before taking the course it is recommended though not required, that candidates have exposure to basic concepts in IT and related work experience of at least two years. It is also recommended that students should complete at least 21 hours of personal study by reviewing the syllabus and relevant books in preparation for the examination. There is mandatory accredited course attendance for this examination.

Examinations
The Intermediate exams are 90 minute, gradient style, complex multiple choice papers with a small number of questions which usually involve scenarios and a complex set of answers each of which require close analysis and significant undertanding of the subject matter and an ability to relate this to the scenario to answer successfully. The pass mark is 70%.
